What are pure cotton socks?

Pure cotton socks, that is, the cotton content is 100%. There is no pure cotton in the socks, and the cotton content is between 60% and 85%. Because socks are elastic, and pure cotton has poor elasticity, it is impossible to make socks with pure cotton.
So we can only say that they are cotton socks, not pure cotton socks.
Pure cotton fabric: Made of cotton as raw material, it is woven by warp and weft yarns on a loom. Now it is divided into native cotton fabric and recycled cotton fabric according to the actual source of cotton.
The following two methods can distinguish whether it is pure cotton socks:
Pinching: Pure cotton socks have obvious wrinkles after pinching. Fold the fabric in half and scrape it with your fingernails. There are obvious crease lines after unfolding, while chemical fiber fabrics have no wrinkles after pinching.
Burning: Cotton fibers do not melt or shrink when close to the flame, and burn when they come into contact with the fire source. There is a smell of burning paper when burning.

Usually we like to choose pure cotton socks, but is pure cotton 100% pure cotton? The answer from sock industry experts is no. If a pair of socks is made of 100% pure cotton, then this pair of socks is pure cotton. Usually, socks with a cotton content of more than 75% can be called cotton socks, and socks with a cotton content of 85% are generally very high-end cotton socks.
The disadvantages of pure cotton fabrics are that they are not resistant to sunlight, easy to yellow, poor elasticity, easy to wrinkle, mildew, and wear resistance. Therefore, cotton socks also need to add some functional fibers to maintain the elasticity, fastness and comfort of the socks. Spandex, nylon, acrylic, polyester, etc. are very common functional fibers, and socks that do not contain these functional fibers are not good socks.
